[MUSIC] Jithesh Raj: Welcome back. Lets take a look at staged rollout. Im going to show you a quick demo, where Im going to stage rollout a user, and the user is going to move from a federated authentication model to a cloud authentication model. But before we look at the staged rollout, lets look at how the user would log into portal.office.com today. So, traditionally, the user would just sign into his portal. and would be redirected to his AD FS page in this case. He would complete authentication here and then get access to the application. Now, lets stage migrate this user. So, I would login as an admin through the Azure Portal and enable staged rollout. Today, I have three options for staged rollout. One is Password Hash Sync with seamless single sign-on. Second is Pass-Through Authentication with seamless single sign-on or I could just do either of them without doing seamless single sign-on. In this tenant, you can see Ive turned on Password Hash Sync and seamless single si

Shared computer activation is required for scenarios where multiple users share the same computer and the users are logging in with their own account. Normally, users can and activate Microsoft 365 Apps only on a limited number of devices, such as 5 PCs.
Office Setup automatically creates log files in your \Temp folder. The logs will be stored under %temp% for Sign-in or Activation issues.
The Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is a command-line tool that you can use to download and deploy Microsoft 365 Apps to your client computers.
Example of a standard configuration file The ODT consists of two files: setup.exe and configuration. xml. To work with the tool, you edit the configuration file to define what options you want, and then run setup.exe from the command line.
SharedComputerLicensing property (part of Property element) Default value is 0 if not specified. Set SharedComputerLicensing to 1 if you deploy Microsoft 365 Apps to shared computers by using Remote Desktop Services. For more information, see Overview of shared computer activation for Microsoft 365 Apps.
By default, the dSHeuristics attribute does not exist and, unless otherwise specified, the default value of each character in the dSHeuristics string is 0. When modifying an existing dSHeuristics string, the values of all existing characters that are not of interest to the modification MUST be preserved.
What is a Shared Computer and why does this matter? There are quite a few scenarios where computers are shared, for example shift workers in an office where 2 or 3 people use the same PC over a 24 hour period; a PC in a warehouse or shop that several people log on to; maybe a shared PC in a meeting or conference room.
Open any Office program, such as Word. Go to File Account About Word (or whatever the name of the app is). On the second line from the top, underneath the MSO version number, you should see Shared Computer Activation, instead of a Product ID, like in the following screenshot.
