By default photoshop is set to have just one undo, Ctrl+Z only works once. To change this you need to edit the keyboard shortcuts. Go to Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts. Set Shortcuts For: to Application Menus and open the Edit shortcut list.
To undo an action press Ctrl+Z. If you prefer your mouse, click Undo on the Quick Access Toolbar. You can press Undo (or CTRL+Z) repeatedly if you want to undo multiple steps.
Select the History Brush tool (Y) . Use the Options bar to customize tool settings, like Size and Hardness, to get the effect you want. Drag over the parts of the image you want to restore.
Once the appropriate Text tool is chosen, highlight the text you want to change by placing the cursor then clicking and dragging over the text. The selected text is highlighted, and you can type the new text. The selected text is deleted and the new text appears as you type.
When things go wrong, sometimes the best option is to simply revert the file by selecting Revert from the File menu, or by pressing f12. This will undo any changes that youve made, and bring back your file to the way it was when you first opened it (or the last time it was saved).
To perform multiple undo actions, stepping back through the history of your actions, you need to use the Step Backwards command instead. Click Edit and then Step Backwards or press Shift + CTRL + Z, or shift + command + Z on Mac, on your keyboard for each undo you want to perform.
The History Brush tool allows you to restore parts of an image to an earlier history state by painting over them. Choose Window History to open the History panel. In the History panel, click the far-left column of the state that you want to use as the source for the History Brush tool.
To undo an action, press Ctrl + Z. To redo an undone action, press Ctrl + Y.
If you need to go back more than one step, use the Step Backward command instead: Choose EditStep Backward or press Option-⌘-Z (Alt+Ctrl+Z).
If you need to go back more than one step, use the Step Backward command instead: Choose EditStep Backward or press Option-⌘-Z (Alt+Ctrl+Z).
