Hey this is Ralph in this video I want to show you how easy it is to insert charts into Microsoft Word. Not long ago I had to create a large document that had over a dozen different charts, and it was pretty easy to do in Word and it was also easy to make them look good. So basically in my Word document, Im going to head right over to the insert ribbon and Im going to choose chart. Now I think for this example Ill just do a default column, clustered column chart, works pretty much the same for all the others, and click okay. Now when you do this, Word is going to give you this little baby like Excel spreadsheet to work with, and for quick charts, thats probably not a bad way to go. However, what I like to do since I like Excel, I click this little button right here to edit the data in Microsoft Excel. Thats going to open up an, a true Excel client interface which is much more practical. So for some of my charts, I already had them created on a spreads

Follow these steps: Make sure you save your document. Press Ctrl+Home to go to the beginning of your document. Press Ctrl+H. Click on the More button, if it is available. Click once in the Find What box and make sure it is empty. Click on Format and choose Style. Choose the name of the style you want to reapply.
Press F9 on your keyboard. If your document has tables with fields or formulas, you have to highlight each table separately. Then, press F9.
Use Destination Theme Link Data Keeps the chart linked to the original workbook. To update the chart automatically, change the data in the original workbook. You also can select Chart Tools Design Refresh Data.
Refresh the Excel chart This can be done in two ways: Click on the Refresh button under the ANALYZE tab and select Refresh All. Click on the Refresh All button under the DATA tab.
In PowerPoint, under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Refresh Data.
Press Ctrl + A. Press F9. If your document has tables with fields or formulas, you might need to select each table separately and press F9. Tip: To make sure that you dont forget to update your table of contents before you print the document, set Word to update fields automatically before printing.
