hey guys itamp;#39;s manny uh what i wanted to do with this video is create a an instance then create an ami from that instance and then move on to uh our next step is which would be to create an instance from an ami um that reflects all the changes that we had made to the um to the starting uh instance okay so ideally we just want to launch an instance and iamp;#39;m going to move through this fairly quick just because i want to make these videos a lot a lot easier to consume for myself also for you so weamp;#39;re going to keep everything default here weamp;#39;ll do next add storage tags weamp;#39;re just going to add a tag because i hate having to change the name afterwards so weamp;#39;re going to do instance 5 value thatamp;#39;s fine security group weamp;#39;ll leave it at 22 but weamp;#39;ll need port 80 open eventually because weamp;#39;re creating a web server on apache server uh on the linux instance so weamp;#39;ll need port 80 open uh to be able to talk to it ac

You can update an AMI image pipeline using a JSON file as input to the update-image-pipeline command in the AWS CLI. To configure the JSON file, you must have Amazon Resource Names (ARNs) to reference the following existing resources: Image pipeline to update. Image recipe.
You cant update the AMI of an instance without replacing it with a new instance. Typically you simply run the operating system updates - yum update / apt update upgrade / windows update.
If you create an AMI from an existing instance, once the AMI is created, AWS creates a snapshot of the root storage as well as all the EBS volumes that are attached to the instance. When you deregister the AMI, it is simply deleted.
Login to your AWS Console and navigate to the CloudFormation page. Select the stack that you previously created when configuring CloudRanger, and then click Update. On the Specify template page, select Replace current template. Then paste the CloudFormation URL into the Amazon S3 URL text box.
