Open the original CSV or Excel file in Excel. Create a new column, ideally immediately to the right of the original variable. Make the corrections in the new variable. Import the updated data file by selecting File Data Sets Update.
Open the . RIGHT-CLICK the tile above the Start Date column header. ( Select Format Cells from the shortcut menu. If necessary, select the Number tab (it should appear by default). Select Custom from the number Category list. In the Type field, replace the text that appears with yyyy-mm-dd. Click OK.
Open the CSV and save it as an Excel file. Then edit it. Then save it again, still as an Excel file. (That way you can always reopen the edited Excel, not losing any work youve done.)
