The Connector Tool exports and accepts imports in the CSV file type. While Microsoft Excel allows you to manipulate CSV files, Excel is not a dedicated CSV editor. *Note: The Connector Tool is available to Asset Essentials clients for an additional cost.
Incorrect Delimiters: Errors occur when the delimiter in the CSV file doesnt match the expected delimiter of the importing system. Fix: Ensure the delimiter used (comma, semicolon, etc.) matches the systems requirements. You can often specify the delimiter during the import process.
Resolution Open the CSV in Notepad. (Dont use Excel to open the CSV file because the quotation marks may not be visible in Excel). On the Edit menu, select Replace. In the Find what box, type , leave the Replace with box blank, and then select Replace All. Note. Save the file, and then import it to Microsoft 365.
A CSV (Comma Separated Values) file is a special type of file that you can create or edit in Excel. Rather than storing information in columns, CSV files store information separated by commas. When text and numbers are saved in a CSV file, its easy to move them from one program to another.
How to reverse rows or columns in your CSV file Upload your CSV file to reverse. Set options as needed. Press the REVERSE button. Download the reversed file instantly or send a download link to email.
How to replace text in CSV Select the text replacement area from the Replace dropdown list (text, metadata). Upload your CSV file to replace text. Enter text search pattern and replacement value. Click Replace Now button. Download the resultant CSV file. Send result by email.
Open the CSV and save it as an Excel file. Then edit it. Then save it again, still as an Excel file. (That way you can always reopen the edited Excel, not losing any work youve done.)
