unlimited pto is not what it seems to be because it doesnt mean you can just get hired and then take the next year off of work unless of course you work at netflix subscribe so you dont miss that video what unlimited pto actually means is the employer trusts you enough to handle your own workload and ensure that youre getting enough done to keep the business moving forward some companies provide upper limits for their unlimited pto when they do i ignore those because i dont pay attention to false advertising and in my experience i havent had any issues with taking extra time off each year i set my own personal goal for how many days off ill take in a quarter in most cases ill aim to take one full week off each quarter and then i assume that ill also take a few days off here and there for a long weekend this amounts to me usually taking between 20 and 30 days off each year this also doesnt include sick time if im sick im sick and i will rest until im feeling well enough to
