What actually worked was this: Open document and go to *Advanced* menu. Select *Preflight* option. Select *Create PDF layers* option. Select *Put all text objects on a layer* option. Click on *Analyze and fix* and save file when given the option. (Saved file with a different name.)
With the Redact tool in Acrobat, you can permanently remove text and graphics from your PDF document. First, make a copy of your PDF so you dont accidentally lose something you want to keep. Then, go into Edit Mode and follow these steps to select text or images and redact them.
If the redaction isnt burned into the image so that it cannot be removed, the redacted data can still be viewed. Especially when your images are docHub PDF files, the most common mistake is to redact by obscuring the text by drawing a black box over the text or images you want redacted.
When a document is redacted, it means that certain text contained in a document filed with the Court is concealed from view for privacy protection. This is an example of how a redaction will appear on a document; with the private information concealed: .
Redact sensitive content (Acrobat Pro) Redaction is the process of permanently removing visible text and graphics from a document. You use the Redact tools to remove content. In place of the removed items, you can have redaction marks that appear as colored boxes, or you can leave the area blank.
Open the PDF in Acrobat, and then do one of the following: Choose Tools Redact. On the Edit menu, choose Redact Text Images. Select the text or image in a PDF, right-click, and select Redact. Select the text or image in a PDF, choose Redact in the floating context-menu.
Heres how to black out text in a PDF: Open your PDF in docHub online services. Select Tools, then Redact. Select text. Either double-click to select the text or drag to select lines of text. Apply redaction. Once youve selected the text you want to remove, click Save to apply the changes and save the document.
Open the PDF you have just saved from Word or your publishing program in docHub Reader and click on Tools Comment. Choose Add text box and draw the text box into the paper.
If the Mark for Redaction selection is grayed out, then the document has been locked. You will need to open the document for editing.
Once a file is saved with redactions applied, theres no way to get the information back. If you overwrite the original PDF with the redacted version, the redacted information is gone forever. Consider adding the original page back to your PDF document for users to view.
