In this video tutorial, Chip Wood demonstrates how to redact or highlight a PDF using the Preview application on macOS. To open a PDF, ctrl-click on the file and select Preview, or simply double-click if it's the default viewer. He shows how to access the markup toolbar, where users can adjust fonts, fill colors, borders, and line thicknesses. To create a visible box, he selects the square shape, adds a border, and adjusts it to fit the text. After highlighting text, he explains how to double-click the box to change the fill color to black for redaction, or to white for a less noticeable effect. Additionally, he briefly mentions that images can be redacted by dragging a box over them.
