In this tutorial, Chip Wood demonstrates how to redact or highlight a PDF using the Preview app. To start, open your PDF in Preview by ctrl-clicking and selecting it, or double-click if it’s your default viewer. Access the markup toolbar to find options for fonts, fill colors, borders, and line thickness. Use the square shape tool to create a box around the text you want to highlight. Adjust the box's border and thickness for visibility. To redact, double-click the box, change the fill color to black, and eliminate the border. For a subtle redaction, change the fill color to white. Additionally, he mentions that redaction of images can be done easily by clicking and dragging.
