In this tutorial, Chip Wood demonstrates how to redact or highlight text in a PDF using Preview. To start, open the PDF by ctrl-clicking and selecting Preview or by double-clicking if it's your default viewer. Access the markup toolbar to customize fonts, fill colors, borders, and line thickness. Use the shapes icon to select and draw a square around the text. Adjust the box to fit the text, noting that you can highlight text by clicking outside the box. To redact information, double-click the box, choose a fill color (like black), and eliminate the border. For subtle redaction, change the fill color to white. The tutorial also briefly mentions redacting images by dragging over them.
