alright this tutorial is going to go over how you open up a PDF in preview set it as your default and by doing it this way youll be able to annotate a PDF which can be very helpful so what you first have to do is you can find a PDF so I have a couple PDFs stored over here on my desktop you can also find one in finder if you wanted to so Im just going to use the one over here on my desktop and you right-click on that PDF and go to get info so then once you go to get info down here where it says open with right now its docHub Reader so Im going to want to click on docHub Reader scroll down and find preview which is right here click on preview and then continue to click change all so that will make it a default setting click continue and now every PDF that I open will be opened in preview so lets open that PDF up then you can see up here that its in preview mode that it opened up in and the nice thing is now that I can annotate this PDF by clicking on my icon here my toolbar comes dow

Hear your Mac read documents Hear an entire document: Choose Edit Speech Start Speaking. Hear part of a document: In a document, select the text you want to hear, then choose Edit Speech Start Speaking. Stop the speaking: Choose Edit Speech Stop Speaking.
Have your Mac speak text thats on the screen On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Accessibility in the sidebar. Click Spoken Content on the right. Turn on Speak selection. On your Mac, press the specified keyboard shortcut (the default key combination is Option-Esc).
To activate Mac Text to Speech: Open System Preferences, click Accessibility, then Speech. (If you are not running the latest Mac operating system then you will click System Preferences Dictation Speech Speech). Select the Speak selected text when the key is pressed checkbox.
By default, speaking is enabled when you press Option-Esc. To choose a different key, click Change Key, press one or more modifier keys (Command, Shift, Option, or Control) together with another key, then click OK.
To use Previews speech feature open a PDF document and choose Edit, Speech, Start Speaking. To stop the speech feature, choose Edit, Speech Stop Speaking.
The read aloud feature is available on all Mac computers and can be activated by going to System Preferences Accessibility Speech. Once activated, you can adjust the speed of the voice and the volume of the audio. You can also choose from a variety of voices, including male and female voices in different languages.
Here are some solutions to try: To hear text that you selected on your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, click Accessibility in the sidebar, click Spoken Content on the right (you may need to scroll down), then turn on Speak selection.
View PDFs or images In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF or image that you want to view. Do any of the following: Show thumbnails: Choose View Thumbnails or View Contact Sheet. Show a documents table of contents (if it has one): Choose View Table of Contents. Close the sidebar: Choose View Hide Sidebar.
