Edit Text Files Using Touch Command This command is create one or more text files at a time. In simple words you can create single or multiple files using Touch Command. Now the files are created you may use the cat command as catfilename. txt to edit them and once edited exit using CTRL + D .

Vim To start writing or editing, you must enter insert mode by pressing the letter i on your keyboard (I for insert). After you press escape, press shift + ;. After you see the : in the lower left-hand corner of your vim editor, type w and then press enter to save your work.
