Printing 1099 Forms To print your forms, go through the following steps on each report. You will need official blank 1099-NEC and 1096 forms in red ink for the Federal copies ONLY. Other copies can be printed on plain paper.
If you file by paper, you must print Copy A to a preprinted red form and also print Form 1096 to the red form. From the Reports menu, click Government Reporting Form 1099-NEC. Click Print. On the Print window, review your selections and change them as needed. Click OK.
