Apply a pattern or fill effects Click Home Format Cells dialog launcher, or press Ctrl+Shift+F. On the Fill tab, under Background Color, pick the color you want. To use a pattern with two colors, pick a color in the Pattern Color box, and then pick a pattern in the Pattern Style box.
Modify an Excel Style Right-click the applied style in Home Cell Styles. Select Modify Format to change what you want.

Create a custom cell style On the Home tab, click Cell Styles, and then click New Cell Style. Click New Cell Style. In the Style name box, type a name for the new style. Click Format. Click each tab, select the formatting that you want, and then click OK.
Follow these steps: Select the Developer tab in the top menu. Under Control, select Insert and choose the form element you need. Place the element on the spreadsheet. Right-click the element and select Format Controls to change its settings. Most Excel form elements read information from spreadsheet cells.
