As you can see, changing the white balance setting in the camera doesnt affect the underlaying RAW data in any way. The histograms are the same, and adjusting the white balance to the same value on all of the shots results in the same look and color.
To achieve good in-camera white balance when shooting, consider these factors: Shoot in the RAW file format. Putting your camera on the RAW file setting before you shoot is important for post-processing flexibility. Aim for consistent lighting. Use a gray card to be precise. Dont overcorrect.
Common settings are 5500K (daylight), 4000K (cloudy), and 6500K (shade). 3. Take a photo of the new setting and check the results. If the colors look off, adjust the white balance until they look natural.
To adjust the white balance quickly, select the White Balance tool and then click an area in the image that you want to be a neutral gray. The Temperature and Tint properties adjust to make the selected color exactly neutral (if possible).
You may already be familiar with highlight and shadow clipping warnings, which are standard features in software like Lightroom and docHub Camera Raw. These warnings alert you when a portion of your image becomes pure black or white. While this information is valuable, it can also lead to misconceptions.
Click Edit in the right panel and open the Color Grading drop-down. Use the color wheels for Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights to adjust the colors in your image. Adjust the Blending and Balance sliders to blend and balance the influence among Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights.
Open and process camera raw files In the Edit workspace, choose File Open. Browse to select one or more camera raw files, and click Open. (Optional) Adjust the image view using the controls, such as the Zoom tool, and options, such as Shadows and Highlights, which reveal clipping in the preview area.
