So I have here some grey tin what this is, is an allotrope of tin, which is actually a kind of non-metallic form where it is elemental, but it converted from the white tin, the metallic form thats all bendy, to this form which is very brittle and kind of acts like an ceramic, has large crystals and is slightly more expanded and a dark grey colour. Now I finally managed to make this after over five years of having a piece of tin in the fridge. Just ask my mom, she tried to throw this thing away several times. What it was, was a piece of tin that I actually made in my high school chemistry class. We electrolysed a solution of stannous chloride to make tin crystals. It was quite a fun little experiment, and I saved some of the crystals, I melted them down, made me a little splatter of tin, and I put that in the freezer and just kept it in there for as long as I could.
