In LaTeX, the \fbox command can be used to create a box around text. For example, to create a box around the word box in a sentence, you would write the following: The word box should be \fbox{boxed}.
The full command is written as \makebox[width][alignment]{text} where, The optional width argument, width, can use four length commands: \height is used to give the height of the box above baseline, \depth gives the depth of the box below baseline, \totalheight is the sum of \height and \depth and \width is used to
Text. Writing text in a LaTeX document is easy. Once you are inside the body of the document, as described in the Document Structure section of this page, all you have to do is start typing. When you compile the code LaTeX will take care of all the text formatting based on any commands and packages used.
Because of this box model, LAT can typeset any text into a box of any width. The simplest command for small amounts of text is \parbox. This command needs two arguments in curly braces: the first is the width you want the text set to, and the second is the text itself, as in the example shown.
Click and drag anywhere on the document to create the text box. The insertion point will appear inside the text box. You can now type to create text inside the text box. If you want, you can select the text and then change the font, color, and size by using the commands on the Format and Home tabs.
The command \text creates a line box that creates a line box and is used to typeset the argument without breaking lines and is taken as a single character. This makes the argument extend into the margin. For example, the command \text{speaker} treats the seven characters of the word as one.
Go to Insert Text Box and then select either Draw Text Box (where the text aligns horizontally on the page) or Vertical Text Box (where the text aligns vertically on the page).
Add a text box Place cursor where you want the text box to appear. Go to Insert and in Illustrations select Drawing. Select Text Box and use your cursor to create the text box. Insert text in box and apply any styling needed. Select Save andClose.
