in this video tutorial I will take you step by step through creating an Amazon machine image or Ami and then how to create a new instance using it before fixing the public IP address that Amazon gives it by default and finally testing it to prove itamp;#39;s fully working so after this short introduction I will get right to it there are basically two main reasons why you want to create an instance using your own Ami the first is you want more instances based on an existing one whether it be in the current region or a new one or second you want to restore and replace the existing instance with an earlier saved version I am going to be demonstrating the second option which is to replace this existing instance with an earlier saved version from a snapshot by using an Ami as most AWS users will be faced with this problem at some point but first so you know what the final product will look like I will quickly show you around this instance and highlight a few things as we go

Migrating Amazon EC2 workload across AWS Regions include the following steps: Create the Replication Settings template. the AWS Replication Agent on your source instances to add them to the AWS MGN console. Configure the launch settings for each source server. Initiate the test/cutover to the target Region.
Each AMI includes a template for the root volume required for a particular type of instance. A typical example might contain an operating system, an application server and applications.
When you first copy an Instance Store AMI to a region, well create an Amazon S3 bucket for the AMIs copied to that region. Any instance store AMIs that you copy to that region will be stored in that bucket. The bucket names have the following format: amis-for-account-in-region-hash.
AMIs are a regional resource. Therefore, sharing an image makes it available in that Region. To make an image available in a different Region, copy the AMI to the Region and then share it. AMIs with encrypted volumes cannot be made public.
To create a copy of your AMI in another AWS Region, follow these steps: Create an AMI of your EC2 instance: To create a Linux AMI, see Create your own AMI. Copy the AMI of your EC2 instance to another AWS Region: After the copy operation completes, launch a new EC2 instance from your AMI in the new AWS Region.
Log in to the AWS Management Console, display the EC2 page for your region, then click Instances. Choose the instance from which you want to create a custom AMI. Click Actions and click Create Image. Type a name for Image Name that is easily identifiable to you and, optionally, input text for Image Description.
