in this video were going to talk about how to express negative numbers in binary using the sine magnitude method and the twos complement method and later in this video were going to talk about how to add and subtract binary numbers using the twos complements so lets say if we want to write negative six as a number how would we do that so were going to start with the sine magnitude method in order to express negative six first we need to find out what six is and were going to use a four bit binary to do so so 2 to the n minus 1 thats going to be 2 to the 4 minus 1 which is 2 to the 3 and thats 8. so this is going to be 8 4 2 and 1. so first lets express six as a binary number six is four plus two so were going to put a one in the column under four and two and were gonna put a zero everywhere else so that would be positive six in sign magnitude the first three numbers corresponds to the magnitude of the number six the last number zero this corresponds to the sign so if the l
