Or if this is a student whos fairly quiet and only speaks once in a while but when that student speaks, it kind of turns the conversation on its head. - What I recommend for students to do, and for you to do in this process, would be to sit down with that teacher, maybe even give them four or five bullet points of, you know, why you wanted them to write your letter

Of course it can vary depending on the purpose of the letter, but these are the four most necessary pieces of information to include: A formal salutation, such as Dear [First and Last Name of the recipient] A concise self-introduction. A closing statement summarizing the key points of your recommendation.

The letter should be about one page in length and generally consist of three parts: opening, body, and closing. The writer should explain the relationship between himself/herself and the candidate as well as why the letter is being written.
Letter of recommendation format A personal story that elaborates on one to two traits the applicant possesses. A closing statement that summarizes why the individual youre recommending would be a good fit for the opportunity. A signature that includes your name and contact information.
