thereamp;#39;s no actual kit of HMS Vanguard in 1600 available as far as I know so if you want to display a model in 1600 youamp;#39;re going to have to scratch build it so thatamp;#39;s what Iamp;#39;ve uh attempted to do with this model here so weamp;#39;ll have a look at the process Iamp;#39;ve grabbed a low resolution drawing off the internet and use that as the basis for my design and Iamp;#39;ve also looked at pictures of Large Scale Models online as well Iamp;#39;m building this mainly in cardboard but you can see that the deck is BSA wood and weamp;#39;re just going to leave it bare BSA because obviously itamp;#39;s the right color and texture for wood but the rest of it will be card and thereamp;#39;ll be a few bits that will be made of staring plastic because theyamp;#39;re easier to form for small items I had to go at marking up the deck L using a 0.1 mm fine tip marker note the light colored main turret which is actually borrowed from a 1600 HMS repulse kit so I

The golden rule for choosing your sequence is to never skip more than 1 grit. For example, if you start with P80, and need to finish at P240, rather than using every grit from P80 P220, you can do P80 P120 P180 P240.
Sandpaper numbers between 240 and 600 are extra fine or super fine. They are often used for polishing tasks and between coats of varnish or paint.
Choose a fine-grit sandpaper. Here is what you should look for: If you are scuffing bare wood, or another surface, in preparation for priming, painting, and/or staining, you will need something between P120 and P150. If you are scuffing between coats of paint or sealer, choose something between P180 and P220.
Ultra-fine (800-, 1,000-grit and beyond): Use this grade for ultra-smooth polishing of wood and metal finishes and bare metal.
To get the best results, sand down the surface to remove any imperfections. This will give you a clean slate to work on and ensure a smooth finish. Make sure to use fine-grit sandpaper to avoid damaging the paint job underneath. Now youre ready to apply your clear coat!
1,000 grit is used to completely remove the 600 grit scratches. Dry guide coat is required between these two steps.
Step 1: 2000 grit Sandpaper This pad will help distribute the pressure of your fingers over the paper. Variation: For very small scratches, you can also cut your sandpaper into small postage stamp size squares and use your fingertips as the backing pad.
600 to 800 Grit This sandpaper grit range is perfect for sanding surface imperfections in the primer, prior to paint application. It is recommended to start at the low grit end and work your way up to 800 grit. 1000 to 1200 Grit When you need to remove base coat imperfections, this grit range will do the job.
