So if you do research evaluation, you might have a lot of qualitative data in the form of quotes and maybe you have coded them into themes. Maybe theyamp;#39;re from something like an an interview or a survey or something like that. In this case, we have some presentation of quotes here from zoo visitors, and maybe this was an interview that we used. When we asked them if there were any memorable experiences from their visit and then from all of those quotes, we coded them into themes and this is how Iamp;#39;m going to present them on the slide. To signal to your reader that a section of text is a quotation of someone elses work, you normally use quotation marks. These could be single or double quotation marks, depending on the referencing or house style used in your subject.
Citing Orally Pause slightly after the introductory phrase, then read the quote expressively so that the quote sounds like a second voice. Say Quote immediately before you start reading the quote, and then say Endquote immediately after the last words of the quote.
When speaking the quote again, make sure you say it slowly and clearly enough, so that everyone can easily hear it. It may be a good idea to write the quote out on an index card and read it to the audience so you can ensure you get it right. Make sure you put the index card down or in a pocket when done reading it.
