In this video we will teach you what to do if youamp;#39;ve found someone collapsed. The initial assessment is called a primary survey. This is a quick, orderly assessment to establish how best to treat our casualty in order of priority. We can use the initials DR. ABC or DRABC to remind us of the steps we need to follow. These initials stand for Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and Circulation. So, when I see a casualty, first Im going to check for any danger, to make sure its safe for me to approach them. I dont want to become a casualty myself. Then Im going to see if I can get any response from the casualty. As you approach, introduce yourself. Ask them questions to try to get a response. If they are not alert and do not respond to your voice, kneel down beside them and gently shake their shoulders amp;#39;Hello Amy, itamp;#39;s Winston, can you hear me? Open your eyes.amp;#39; Still no response? You can pinch their ear lobe to see if they respond to pain. Depending on h

It is often helpful to begin the survey with simple questions that respondents will find interesting and engaging. Throughout the survey, an effort should be made to keep the survey interesting and not overburden respondents with several difficult questions right after one another.
It is usual to begin with general questions, and then target more specific, detailed questions. For low importance topics, the order may be reversed, as in the case with example #1. Asking how happy are you at work, is more specific than how happy are you in general.
Best practice in questionnaire design Word items as questions rather than statements and avoid agree-disagree response options. Use verbal labels for each response option. Ask about one idea at a time. Phrase questions with positive language. Use at least five response options per scale.
The Questionnaire Proper The questions should be arranged from general to specific. The very first question should be a general one but is pertaining to goals or purpose of the survey, so that the respondent wont get intimidated but rather, become slowly engaged to the questionnaire.
Write an introduction with the assumption that respondents dont know much, if anything, about the topic of your survey. Use simple, clear language to briefly explain the topic and purpose of the survey. Your introduction only needs to be three or four sentences, or a couple of short paragraphs at most.
A questionnaire must fulfill four basic tasks: Collect appropriate data that meet the research objectives. Make data available for analysis. Minimize the bias, or distortions, caused by poorly worded questions and improper survey administration. Make the questions varied and engaging to eliminate respondent fatigue[1]
1 Use a clear and consistent layout The layout of your questionnaire should be simple and intuitive. Use a standard font size and style, avoid clutter and distractions, and align your questions and answer options neatly. Use white space, headings, and subheadings to separate different sections and topics.
Your questionnaire should include a combination of question types, like open-ended, long-form, or short-ended questions. Open-ended questions give users a chance to share their own answers. But closed-ended questions are more efficient and easy to quantify, with specific answer choices.
