To upload photos to Google Photos from your iPhone or Android device, open a browser and go to the Google Photos website. Here, you will find an upload button in the top right corner.
Tap Add a document or Image to upload an image or document for your upcoming appointment. You will need to have image or document files on your mobile device. If you do not have images available, you will have the option of capturing images or documents using your mobile device during the upload process.
Click the Epic button in the top left, select Patient Care Media Manager from the drop-down, and select the patient for which youd like to upload media. OR, if youre already in the patients chart, click More Activities at the bottom left, then Media Manager. Select Import.
Taking pictures of patients without consent is unacceptable. This includes patient images or other individually identifiable health information that may be in the background of a photo. Similar to HIPAA photo violations, organizations can also be penalized for video violations.
The Patient Photos project is a patient identification project to assist with patient safety and identification. Once captured, the patients photo is attached to the patients electronic medical record (EMR).
These records are no different from narrative records the photo is meant to document what is necessary to achieve an adequate medical record and should be considered part of that record.

You are not permitted to send any images to us without the express request of the clinician and this request will be documented in the medical record, including the type and location of the authorised image.
