Today, Aaron NACE from Phlearn teaches how to work with raw photos in Photoshop using docHub Camera Raw. This software allows you to edit exposure and white balance before opening the image in Photoshop for further edits. While Photoshop doesn't directly edit the raw image, Aaron demonstrates how to maintain the ability to go back to the raw file at any time in your workflow.

Higher image quality translates into more available data when it comes to photo editing, giving RAWs a definitive edge over JPEGs. Editing programs like docHub Camera RAW, Bridge, or Lightroom are built for fine-tuning RAWs into polished final photos.
To take a ProRAW photo, tap RAW in the Camera app, then take your shot. If you turn off RAW in the Camera app, the format of the photo defaults to the format you set under Camera Capture in Settings Camera Formats: either High Efficiency (HEIF format) or Most Compatible (JPEG).
Making the Switch From JPEG to RAW STEP ONE: Select RAW on your camera. To begin with, you need to change from JPEG to RAW as your shooting format in your camera. STEP TWO: Shoot! STEP THREE: Connect your camera to your computer and upload your files. STEP FOUR: Edit your Photo! STEP FIVE: Save file as a JPEG.
Step 1: Open Photoshop. Go to FileOpen and then navigate to the JPEG file youd like to open in docHub Camera Raw. Step 2: With the file showing in Photoshop, go to FilterCamera Raw Filter. This will open the docHub Camera Raw window and allow you to make all the adjustments youd like in ACR.
When an image is captured in a digital camera, it is recorded as raw data. If the camera format is set to JPEG, this raw data is processed and compressed before it is saved in the JPEG format. If the camera format is set to raw, no processing is applied, and therefore the file stores more tonal and color data.
The main benefit to capturing our images as raw files as opposed to JPEGs is that we have a lot more image information to work with, including a much wider dynamic range (the number of brightness levels in the image) and a larger color space, and this means we can push the images a lot further than we could with JPEGs,
Shooting RAW ensures you are capturing as many colors in an image as possible, creating photos with a higher color range and color depth. This is why a brightly colored landscape or a vibrant fashion scene with a range of shades and tones will likely turn out better if you shoot in RAW vs. JPEG.
The main advantage of shooting in RAW is that you end up with high-quality files to edit into the best possible image. Capturing and storing all the details that pass through your cameras sensors means RAW files contain a wider dynamic range and far greater color spectrum than JPEGs.
Many professional photographers shoot in RAW because the format captures the highest level of detail. It can often be easier to edit exposure later with a RAW file. However, shooting in JPEG has its benefits, since their smaller file sizes allow you to shoot more images at once and transfer files faster.
The short answer is: yes. Converting a RAW file to JPEG affects the quality of the image itself. The only thing that changes is the format - raw files are typically converted to JPEGs so they can be viewed on devices like computers, phones, and cameras.
