How strong consistency for Amazon S3 works? After a successful write of a new object, or an overwrite or delete of an existing object, any subsequent read request immediately receives the latest version of the object.
To add or remove access control list (ACL) entries from a file or directory, get the FileSecurity or DirectorySecurity object from the file or directory. Modify the object, and then apply it back to the file or directory. ACLs can be set for individual objects, while IAM permissions can only be granted at the bucket level or higher. You are exclusively using the XML API or require interoperability with Amazon S3. Adds an object to a bucket. You must have WRITE permissions on a bucket to add an object to it. Amazon S3 never adds partial objects; if you receive a success response, Amazon S3 added the entire object to the bucket. We can enable versioning at the bucket level from the AWS console, or from SDKs and API calls. Once we enable versioning, any new object uploaded to that bucket will receive a Version ID. This ID is used to identify that version uniquely, and it is what we can use to retrieve that object at any point in time.
If you upload a file to S3 with the same name as an existing file you will overwrite the existing file. Caching may disguise this.
By default, AWS S3 sync will upload all files from our directory to the target directory. Already existing files will be overwritten, or if versioning is enabled, will be saved as a new version.
If an object already exists in a bucket, the new object will overwrite it because Amazon S3 stores the last write request. PutObject Method (request) - AWS Documentation AWS Documentation latest apidocs html AWS Documentation latest apidocs html
