to double space an assignment you want to select all of the text so press your finger down on part of the text tap select all or you can also do select and just highlight the portion that you need to double space then tap on the icon in the upper right that is an a with a few lines next to it and under line spacing at the bottom here you will increase that to 2 and that will double space the assignment

Use Paragraph Styles Here, you customize your paragraphs style, making it display a line. To do that, when your Google Docs document is open, select Format Paragraph Styles Borders and Shading from the menu bar. On the Borders and Shading window, select the position, width, dash, and other options for your line.
To indent using the Indent shortcut buttons: Select the text you want to indent. Click the Increase indent shortcut button to increase the indent by increments of a half-inch. All lines of the paragraph will indent. Click the Decrease indent shortcut button to decrease the indent by increments of a half-inch.
To indent all of the lines in a highlighted segment of text, click on the Format menu in Google Docs, followed by Align Indent. Then click on Indentation Options. In the Indentation Options window, you can select a specific number of inches to indent the highlighted text to the right or to the left.
If you always want first-line indentation, modify the Normal style: Put the cursor anywhere in the paragraph. On the Home tab, right-click the Normal style, and choose Modify. Select Format, and then choose Paragraph. On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select First line. Select OK. Select OK again.
