When I activate the formatting symbols in Word, you can see that I have multiple sections in my document but the page numbers dont continue across these sections. The reason for that is, that each section has its own page number settings. To change them, we open the footer area of the second section for example, do a right-click on the page number, select Format Page Numbers and in the dialog window we switch to the option Continue from previous section. Note, that this will only continue the page numbers for this single section.
