hey everybody im paul rabelay and in this video im going to show you how somebody can make a valid will very quickly so im paul rabale im an estate planning attorney and um really a little project here and and well see how this goes but um ive been doing this for 30 years and of course theres a school of people that say you should never ever ever ever ever write a will without getting an attorney and hiring the law firms and all of that and then uh like it or not theres a group on the other end that say you know what im going to do this by myself im going to figure out how to follow the rules im going to make my own now where you stand on on that scale thats thats up to you maybe you can describe in the comments below but i just want to show you how how um a will can be made valid will can be made very very quickly some people stress and procrastinate and they dont sleep and they worry they go on a trip they havent written their will theyre about to go on the highway fo

You can make your own will in Kentucky. You do not have to use an attorney to draft your will. If you know who you want to handle your estate, what assets you have, and who you wish to receive those assets, you are ready to make a will.
(1) Every will or authenticated copy admitted to record by any court shall be recorded by the county clerk, and remain in his office, except during such time as it may be carried to another court under subpoena duces tecum.
A handwritten will is only acceptable in Kentucky if the testator writes their entire will in their handwriting, sign, and date their will in front of two witnesses. A handwritten will without witnesses is not valid. Oral Will: An oral or spoken will, sometimes called a nuncupative will, is not valid in Kentucky.
There are three main disadvantages to using a living will: Living wills have a limited scope; Living wills rely on physician compliance; Living wills are not always given to health care providers.
What Is a Valid Will? A Kentucky will must be signed by two witnesses. The witnesses cannot be people who are beneficiaries of the will or whose spouses are beneficiaries of the will. The wrong witnesses can make a will invalid and change the amount received by beneficiaries.
A diagnosis of a disease that is terminal or that docHubly alters your life may lead you to make changes in your living will. Discuss with your doctor the kind of treatment and care decisions that might be made during the expected course of the disease.

Specific document preparation, like drafting a single will or power of attorney, can cost between $200 and $500 per document. The cost depends on the complexity of the document and the attorneys experience and expertise.
