Legends should match the width of the figures. Place them above a table, but below a figure (charts, graphs, images, etc). Legends should be left justified. And dont forget the period after Figure x.
To move the legend outside the plot, well use the bboxtoanchor and loc parameters of the legend function. The bboxtoanchor parameter specifies the legends position. The tuple (1.05, 1) positions the legend just outside the plots right edge. The loc parameter determines where the legends anchor point should be.
Python has a function called legend() which is used to place a legend on the axis. The legend function has an attribute called loc which is used to denote the location of the legend. The default value of attribute loc is upper left. Other string, such as upper right, lower left, lower right can also be used.
You should include a legend in your chart whenever it helps your audience understand the data better by clarifying categories, data series, or types of data points and when representing complex or multi-dimensional data.
Legend Placement Legends should be placed below or to the right to a data visualization, depending on the type of data being labeled and the available space surrounding the data visualization. When a large set of values exist ensure the legend is placed on the right of the chart.
You can also edit the text in the legend and change the order of the entries in the legend. On the View menu, click Print Layout. Click the chart, and then click the Chart Design tab. Click Add Chart Element Legend. To change the position of the legend, choose Right, Top, Left, or Bottom.
Click the chart, and then click the Chart Design tab. Click Add Chart Element Legend. To change the position of the legend, choose Right, Top, Left, or Bottom. To change the format of the legend, click More Legend Options, and then make the format changes that you want.
