To create a legend in Matplotlib, you can use the legend() function after plotting your data. This function adds a legend to your plot, which helps to identify different data series.
Legends usually appear near the bottom of a map or around the outer edges, outside of or within the map. If youre placing the legend within the map, set it apart with a distinctive border, and take care not to obscure important areas of the map.
How to put a legend outside the plot with Pandas? Make a dictionary d with keys Column1 and Column2. Make a data frame using DataFrame (d). Plot the data frame with a list of styles. Using legend(), place a legend on the figure. To display the figure, use the show() method.
Legend Placement Legends should be placed below or to the right to a data visualization, depending on the type of data being labeled and the available space surrounding the data visualization. When a large set of values exist ensure the legend is placed on the right of the chart.
Moving the Legend Around You can do this by passing the loc argument to the plt. legend() function. Each of these loc values is self-explanatory and places the legend in the respective position on the plot.
To position the legend outside the plot, you can set the loc parameter to a value that is not within the plot area, such as upper left or upper right . In this example, the legend is positioned outside the plot in the upper left corner.
Python has a function called legend() which is used to place a legend on the axis. The legend function has an attribute called loc which is used to denote the location of the legend. The default value of attribute loc is upper left. Other string, such as upper right, lower left, lower right can also be used.
To move the legend outside the plot, well use the bboxtoanchor and loc parameters of the legend function. The bboxtoanchor parameter specifies the legends position. The tuple (1.05, 1) positions the legend just outside the plots right edge. The loc parameter determines where the legends anchor point should be.
