Malt liquor is a beer brewed with extra malt and sugar, resulting in higher alcohol content. On the other hand, beer is brewed with hops and barley and generally has a lower alcohol content. As a result, malt liquors are typically darker in colour and sweeter than beer. They are also usually less carbonated.
Malt beer is a sweet, low-alcohol beer (02.5% ABV) that is brewed like regular beer but with low or minimal fermentation.
It is typically higher in alcohol content than beer, and some people believe that it is more likely to cause drunkenness. There is no scientific evidence to support this claim, however, and both malt liquor and beer can lead to intoxication if consumed in large enough quantities.
Beer: ABV. Regular beer typically has an ABV of five percent or lower, while malt liquors ABV is usually around six to nine percent, or even higher. This means that one bottle of malt liquor can have more than double the alcohol content of a standard beer.
Typical alcohol by volume is between 4% and 7%. Top-selling FMB brands in the United States include Smirnoff Ice and Mikes Hard Lemonade.
