Scenario 1: Optional Connected Experiences is disabled In Outlook: Go to File - Options -- General. Click the Privacy Settings button. If the Enable optional connected experiences button is not checked, the Get Add-Ins button (among other functions) will be greyed out.
When installing an add-in, you see Error loading add-ins in the status bar Close Office. Check that the time and date are set correctly on your computer.
