Ink to Shape is a feature in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote for Windows which allows users to draw shapes with their pen or finger and convert them to perfect shapes automatically. To use Ink to Shape, select a pen from the Draw tab. Draw a shape on the page.
You define the pens you want to have, and they are then available in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. On the Draw tab of the Ribbon, tap a pen to select it. Tap again to open the menu of Thickness and Color options for the pen. A Pencil texture is also available: On the touch screen, begin writing or drawing.
Open a Word or Excel document. Under the Review tab, choose Start inking.
If Start Inking does not appear on the Review tab in your Microsoft Office application, change the Pen Operation Mode setting in the projectors menus. Note: In Microsoft Word or Excel, select the Insert tab and select Start Inking.
Convert your ink drawings to shapes On the Draw tab, select Ink to Shape. (This mode must be turned on before you draw the shape.) Draw the shape of your choice. To continue inking but stop having your drawings automatically converted to shapes, select Ink to Shape once again.
You will find the Hide Ink button under the Review tab in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Clicking it will toggle ink on or off. When the Hide Ink icon is highlighted in grey, ink markup is being hidden. When it is not highlighted, ink markup is being shown.
On the ribbon, select Draw, and then in the Drawing Tools group, select Action Pen. Start writing in the cells; your handwriting is automatically converted into text.
