What are Indexes? Indexes provide lists of the major documents that were generated in the process of passing a public law, from different drafts of the bill to committee reports to committee hearings.
The page numbering of a document filed electronically must begin with the first page or cover page as page 1 and thereafter be paginated consecutively using only arabic numerals (e.g., 1, 2, 3). The page number for the cover page may be suppressed and need not appear on the cover page.
An index is a list of all the names, subjects and ideas in a piece of written work, designed to help readers quickly find where they are discussed in the text. Usually found at the end of the text, an index doesnt just list the content (thats what a table of contents is for), it analyses it.
