hi my name is Bree Clark and Iamp;#39;m a software expert and today Iamp;#39;m going to show you how you can put a formula and text into the same cell in Microsoft Excel on this spreadsheet I already have some totals here I have quarterly totals and I have a yearly total well I also want a half-year total but I want that total and the label for half a year total to be in the same cell so Iamp;#39;m going to click in cell a1 and then Iamp;#39;m going to click in the formula bar and Iamp;#39;m going to start typing my formula itamp;#39;s going to start with an equal sign and then Iamp;#39;m going to put my label in quotation marks Iamp;#39;m going to put first half total colon space and close the quotation marks so thatamp;#39;s the first part of this formula the label now Iamp;#39;m going to type an ampersand and then Iamp;#39;m going to type the rest of the formula which would be B 8 + C 8 and then Iamp;#39;ll press ENTER and now I see first half total colon 129,000 94 all

If you need to use an equation, add or write it in Word. Select Insert Equation or press Alt + =. To use a built-in formula, select Design Equation. To create your own, select Insert Equation Insert New Equation. Use your finger, stylus, or mouse to write your equation.
In a new cell, enter the formula =TOTEXT(cellreference) , replacing cellreference with the cell containing the formula you want to convert. Press Enter to display the result as a text string.
Press F2 (or double-click the cell) to enter the editing mode. Select the formula in the cell using the mouse, and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Select the destination cell, and press Ctl+V. This will paste the formula exactly, without changing the cell references, because the formula was copied as text.
How can I insert a formula into my text box? Click your text box. Enter the equal sign into the formula bar. Select the linked cell or type the formula to insert into your text box.
On the worksheet, click the shape or text box to which you want to link the cell contents. In the formula bar, type an equal sign (=). Click the worksheet cell that contains the data or text that you want to link to. Tip: You can also type the reference to the worksheet cell.
Use the CTRL + D keyboard command to apply the formula to the column. Hold down the CTRL and D keys on your keyboard to apply the formula to all of the cells below the first cell you selected in the column.
The most common and simple way of adding formula and text in a same cell is by using a formula consisting of ampersand operator.
Show Formulas as text in Excel Instead of the Value in Selected Cells Select the cell where you want to show the formula instead of the value. Go to Home Find Select Replace (keyboard shortcut Control + H).
