MS Excel allows all kinds of data manipulation and related data analysis. The CSV file requires less storage and can be stored in minimum memory space. The Excel file requires more storage and high memory space. Major use in data analysis and visualization.
csv consists of plain text only. csv has nothing to do with spreadsheets. If you choose Text (*. csv) in the save-as dialog and then Edit filter settings you get an additional dialog where you can specify that formulas should be exported instead of formula results.
On the File tab, click Save As. Or press the F12 key to open the Save As dialog. In the Save As dialog box, pick the desired CSV format from the Save as type drop-down menu, On Windows, youd choose either CSV (Comma delimited) or CSV UTF-8.
Here are the rules for creating CSV files: Separate data fields with a delimiter, usually a comma. Keep each record on a separate line. Do not follow the last record in a file with a carriage return. In the first line of the file, include a header with a list of the column names in the file.
You can speed up your CSV preparation and improve data integrity by using some simple functions and formulas in Excel.
CSV file mostly contains textual data and they do not contain any formulas. However, sometimes it happens that CSV files also contain formulas. Such CSV files should be loaded by setting the TxtLoadOptions. HasFormula as true.
