Chest compressions should be restarted without delay after delivery of the shock. Elimination of stacked shocks and extending the duration of CPR from 1 to 2 minutes before post shock rhythm analyses increases CCF from 48% to 69% and is associated with increased survival.
You can achieve a high chest compression fraction by compressing the victims chest at a rate of 100120 compressions per minute to a depth of 22.4 inches. Avoiding leaning on the chest to allow for full chest wall recoil after each compression and minimize pauses in compressions.
Chest compression fraction (CCF) is calculated by dividing the total time spent performing chest compressions by the total CPR time, including pauses for breaths and other activities. The result is the CCF.
The target CCF recommended by the AHA guideline is at least 60%. The results of this study showed a good mean CCF of 71.60% 7.25%.
B. Allow full recoil of the chest after each compression, compress the chest to a depth of 2 inches, deliver compressions at a rate of at least 80/min.
Adequate Depth: Push down on the chest with enough force to compress the chest at least 2 inches (5 cm) for adults and adolescents, and about 1.5 inches (4 cm) for infants and children. This helps in effectively pumping blood through the heart. Full Chest Recoil: Allow the chest to fully recoil between compressions.
Here are the guidelines to achieve a high chest compression fraction: Compressing the chest at a rate of 100120 compressions per minute. Chest compression depth of 22.4 inches. Allowing for full chest wall recoil after each chest compression. Reducing the duration of interruptions between successive compressions.
