Unless you know for sure that the culture of the company is more casual, use the hiring managers first and last name. You can include a title, such as Mr. or Ms. (never Mrs. or Miss).
If someone signs their email to you with just their first name, thats an even clearer signal that you should call them by their first name.
When youre asked to mention or write your name, call/write your first name first before any other names and the name that comes last is presumed to be your last name/surname. For example, if youre James and your surname is John, in writing your name, write James John not the other way round.
If you know the name of the person youre emailing, but havent interacted with them before, use their full name. For example, you may write Dear Julian Flemming, to keep it gender-neutral. When emailing someone you have a casual relationship with, you can use their first name alone.
The use of a recipients full name in an email greeting is typically reserved for formal communication, while using the first name is common in casual discussions. However, this choice again depends on the senders relationship with the recipient.
The first name is defined as the name that is given to an individual person during birth or at a very young age. The last name is defined as the name that is given to a person from its family generations. The first name comes before the last name.
Technically, its not appropriate to use a persons first name, without permission. The right thing to do is use an honorific (Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr. )
To combine first and last names, use the CONCATENATE function or the ampersand () operator. Important: In Excel 2016, Excel Mobile, and Excel for the web, this function has been replaced with the CONCAT function.
