There is no fee to apply for asylum. You may include your spouse and children who are physically present in the United States as dependents on your affirmative or defensive asylum application at the time you file or at any time until a final decision is made on your application.
What Is the Filing Fee for Form I-600? The current filing fee for Form I-600 is $775. However, as part of the process, you must also submit a Home Study that names the other household members. Any adult household members (over 18) must also undergo, and pass, a fingerprinting process and background check.
Q. What is the Asylum Program Fee and who pays it? A. The Asylum Program Fee ($600) is a new fee paid by employers who file either Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker; Form I-129CW, Petition for a CNMI-Only Nonimmigrant Transitional Worker; or Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker.
New One-Time Asylum Program Fee (Effective 1 April 2024) Employers must now pay a one-time Asylum Program Fee of US$600 for each Form I-129 and I-140 they file. Small employers will also be required to pay an Asylum Program Fee but at a discount of US$300. Nonprofits will be exempt from paying the Asylum Program Fee.
Changes in Premium Processing Adjudication The USCIS announced that it will change its adjudication period from calendar days to business days. The premium processing fee is also set to increase effective February 26, 2024, to $2,805 for Form I-129 and Form I-140.
The fee to file Form N-600 is $1385.
If applicants file online, the new filing costs will essentially be reduced to $710. For applicants who qualify for reduced cost Form N-400 filing, and where the biometrics services fee will be bundled, the filing costs will decrease from $405 to $380.
