Insert a picture in Word, PowerPoint, or Excel Click the location in your document where you want to insert a picture. On the Insert tab, click Pictures. Select the option you want to use for inserting pictures.
Add a shape On the Insert tab, select Shapes. Select the shape you want from the drop-down gallery. Select a sizing handle on the perimeter of the shape and drag inward or outward to change the size of the shape. To move the shape, point the mouse at it until the pointer turns into a four-headed arrow.
Add a drawing to a document Click in your document where you want to create the drawing. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes. You can do any of the following on the Format tab, which appears after you insert a drawing shape: Insert a shape.
Insert a new object To create a new file that is inserted into your Word document or email message: In the Object dialog box, click the Create New tab, and then select an option from the Object type list. The default program for that file type opens, where you can enter any text or data you want.
Import a diagram Select File Import From in the menu, then select the location where the diagram you want to import is located. Select the diagram file in the dialog. It will be automatically added to the top left of the drawing canvas and be selected. Drag to reposition the imported diagram on the drawing canvas.
Click Insert WordArt, and pick the WordArt style you want. In the WordArt gallery, the letter A represents the different designs that are applied to all text you type. The placeholder text Your text here appears, with the text highlighted.
