Open File Launch Microsoft Word and click the Open button, or select File followed by Open. Click the File Type drop-down menu and select All File Types. Navigate through your document folders and located the WordPerfect file. Select it and click Open. Microsoft Word will convert the file and open it.
The WordPerfect Document format (WPD) is the native file format for WordPerfect files.
You can also open that kind of WPD file with LibreOffice Writer, FreeOffice TextMaker, Microsoft Word, and Canvas. If youre on a Mac, try NeoOffice. LibreOffice and FreeOffice can open and edit the file, but then you have to choose a different document file format to save it to when youre done, like DOCX or DOC.
To save a WordPerfect document as a Microsoft Word document Click File Save as. Choose the drive and folder where you want to save the file. Type the filename in the File name box. Choose an MS Word format from the File type list box.
You can open a WPD document simply by double-clicking on the file if Corel WordPerfect is installed on your computer. However, if you do not have a copy of Corel WordPerfect installed, you can open this type of file with other word processing applications, such as Microsoft Word and Apache OpenOffice.
