Metal car dents Heat the dent with a hairdryer until its warm to the touch. Suction the dent outward using a dent puller. Wipe the metal with a microfiber towel. Prepare to use the bridge puller. Attach the bridge puller head. Use the bridge puller. Detach the head and puller. Touch up the paint.
Dry Ice Pop Out Method Even dry ice can be used to release a dent from a car or truck. Just rubbing dry ice on the dent of your vehicle can cause it to pop out on its own. While you will need to wear hand protection when handling dry, you will be able to see results from this method fairly quickly.
Can I repair a dent myself? Yes, but youll need to make sure that the damage isnt too extensive first. Measure the dent and check that its no bigger than three inches in diameter and that its shallow, too. If the mark appears on a curve or a contour in the bodywork, a DIY approach probably isnt the best idea.
If the dent is on the plastic bumper (or another area of your car made of plastic), applying boiling water to the blemished area should take the dent right out. Boil a pot of water and pour it on the area with the dent, and then docHub behind the bumper and push until the dent pops out.
The key is to wet both the dent and your plunger to get a good stick. They type of plunger you use does matter. A cup plunger works much better than the flange plungers commonly used for toilets. Stick the plunger to over your dent and start plunging until the dent pops back into place.
A: The boiling water method can yield quick results, often taking just a few minutes to effectively soften the metal and facilitate dent removal.
