the date add function will return a date after which a certain time or date interval has been added or subtracted and in this example I have a query setups to display all of the orders listed in my database however I donamp;#39;t want to show all of the orders in my database I just want to display the orders from the last three months so for that Iamp;#39;m going to need to use the date add function as the criteria to filter my transaction date to display only the orders from the previous three months whatever those might be depending on when the query is run so in other words this queries results will change from day to day month to month etc now to create the function letamp;#39;s go back into design view and click in the criteria slot underneath transaction date then Iamp;#39;m going to take my mouse and hover it right over this funky-looking icon right there that little magic wand that is your expression builder button and clicking it will launch your expression builder which i

CTOD() returns a Date value extracted from a character string. For more information about date formats, see the DATEFORMAT()function. The two most frequent uses of CTOD() are: searching and filtering date fields, and converting character fields containing dates into real date fields.
Use the CTOD( ) function to compare a date against character or numeric fields that contain values representing dates. The filter below compares two values: the numeric Duedate field that stores dates as numbers in the format DDMMYYYY.
CTOD() Interprets a specified character expression as a literal date. The character expression, in the current date format, to return as a date. Use CTOD( ) to convert a character expression containing a literal date to a date value.
To add it, right-click in the first empty column (to the right of the Name column), and select Add Columns. You do NOT have to add the computed field to the table view. Adding the field to the view allows you to see the results of the expression on your data.
The CTOD() function returns the date value which corresponds to expC, in the default date format (generally MM/DD/YY). Use the SET DATE and SET CENTURY commands to change the default format.
The TIMESTAMPDIFF function returns the difference between two given timestamps (that is, one timestamp is subtracted from the other) for the specified date part interval (seconds, days, weeks, etc.). The value returned is an INTEGER, the number of these intervals between the two timestamps.
