In Python, you can build a multi-line remark block by using triple quotes or to comment on many lines. Although these are multi-line strings, not comments, they can temporarily comment out code parts. A more popular method is to begin each line with the normal single-line comment marker, #.
To add a comment in Python, follow these four steps: Make sure your comment begins at the same indent level as the code its about. Begin with the hashtag (#) and a space. The hash character tells the interpreter to ignore the rest of the line of code. Write your comment. Close your comment with a newline.
The start of a multi-line comment uses /* , each line following with a single * , and ending the multi-line comment with */ . Use single line comments to leave a comment for a single line in your code.
An HTML comment begins with . HTML comments are visible to anyone that views the page source code, but are not rendered when the HTML document is rendered by a browser.
The most straightforward way to comment in Python is by using the # symbol, which comments out everything that follows it on the line.
You can comment out multiple lines at once using a simple keyboard shortcut. For Windows and Linux users, the shortcut is Ctrl + / . Mac users, on the other hand, should use Cmd + / . This shortcut will automatically prefix each selected line with a # , Pythons symbol for single-line comments.
Comments in Python are identified with a hash symbol, #, and extend to the end of the line. Hash characters in a string are not considered comments, however. There are three ways to write a comment - as a separate line, beside the corresponding statement of code, or as a multi-line comment block.
Line comments are your standard ctrl + / on Windows/Linux or cmnd + / on OSX. In languages where there are more than one type of comment, like JavaScript and most preprocessors, line comments only comment out a single line.
