The most common way to insert a tick symbol in Excel is this: Select a cell where you want to insert a checkmark. Go to the Insert tab Symbols group, and click Symbol. In the Symbol dialog box, on the Symbols tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Font box, and select Wingdings.
Place your cursor at the spot where you want to insert the checkmark. Go to Insert Advanced Symbol Symbols. Choose the checkmark symbol that you want.
Include preparer information This option displays whatever you have entered as your User Information. This can be accessed through the Tools menu in the top left-hand area of Family Tree Maker.
