in this video weamp;#39;ll cover the basics of ASCII Unicode and utf-8 starting with ASCII ASCII is a character in coding it Maps some bits zeros and ones into characters and as we know computers store everything as zeros and ones thatamp;#39;s why itamp;#39;s needed ASCII uses 7 bits for encoding meaning that there are two to the 7 which is 128 different characters that can be represented so hereamp;#39;s an example 65 represents a 116 represents T and note that the case matters here now in binary this is how it would look now there are some drawbacks of ASCII the original Seven bits were only enough to represent English characters in punctuation and maybe some codes and because a byte is eight bits there was a lot of competition on which other characters should be supported with that last bit now enter Unicode Unicode is a Universal Character encoding it supports many different alphabets and even emojis however unlike ASCII Unicode does not define how its mapping should be implem

Each character, whether its a letter, number, or symbol, is assigned a unique ASCII value ranging from 0 to 127. For example, the ASCII value of the uppercase letter A is 65, while the lowercase letter a has an ASCII value of 97. Similarly, the digit 0 has an ASCII value of 48.
This means that you cant simply add a number to a character to change its ASCII value. You must first convert the character to its ASCII value. In LiveCode, this is done with the charToNum function. Converting a number to the corresponding character is done with the numToChar function.
Inserting ASCII characters To insert an ASCII character, press and hold down ALT while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree () symbol, press and hold down ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad.
ASCII characters may be represented in the following ways: as pairs of hexadecimal digits -- base-16 numbers, represented as 0 through 9 and A through F for the decimal values of 10-15; as three-digit octal (base 8) numbers; as decimal numbers from 0 to 127; or. as 7-bit or 8-bit binary.
Character representation using ASCII can occur in different ways, including three-digit octal numbers, pairs of hexadecimal digits, 7-bit binary, 8-bit binary, and decimal numbers. The original 7-bit version of ASCII has unique values for 128 characters.
public static void main(String[] args. String alphabets = abcdjfre; for(int i=0;i
Example of Converting Character to ASCII Value Using type casting (int), we have converted the character c to an integer, thus generating its ASCII value. We have then used the integer variable asciiValue to store the ASCII value and displayed it on the console, with the help of printf.
