Right-click (or ctrl-click) the table and select Insert Caption. If you dont see this option, right-click or ctrl-click the crosshairs at the top-left corner of the table instead. If you still dont see this option, click the References tab and select Insert Caption on the ribbon.
Select the object (table, equation, figure, or another object) that you want to add a caption to. On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Caption. On the Captions dialog box, click AutoCaption, and then select the check boxes for the items that you want Word to automatically add captions to.
Place your cursor where you want your list to be. In the References tab, click the Insert Table of Figures button (use this for lists of tables or equations, too). In the window that appears, select the label for which you want to make a list from the Caption Label menu (such as Equation, Figure, or Table).
As for the subtitles, highlight one, press the TAB button on your keyboard, and then choose the same Multilevel List option. It will design the subtitles of the secondary sections with the numbers like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. as in the screenshot below. You can also choose another option so that they look differently.

In HTML, it is a very simple and effective way to add captions to images on a web page. HTML allows setting a caption for an image using the and elements. The element groups the image and its caption together, while the element is used to define the caption text.
