In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. With the object selected, do one of the following: Move an object one increment at a time: Click Forward or Backward. Move an object to the very front or back of the stack: Click Front or Back.
If Document Body is turned on, its a word-processing document. If Document Body is turned off, its a page layout document.
Add a background color to text If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Style button. Next to Text Background, click either the color well on the left or the color wheel on the right and choose a color.
Click a shape or text box to select it, or select multiple objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Style tab. Click the disclosure arrow next to Fill, then click the Fill pop-up menu and choose Image Fill, or choose Advanced Image Fill if you want to add a tint to the image.
Layer objects Drag an object so it overlaps with one or more other objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. With the object selected, do one of the following: Move an object one increment at a time: Click Forward or Backward. Move an object to the very front or back of the stack: Click Front or Back.
An image: Click the Background pop-up menu and choose Image Fill. Click Choose, then double-click an image file with a . jpg, . png or .
Anchor an object to the page or to text Click the object to select it. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. Click one of the following buttons in the Object Placement section: Stay on Page: The object stays wherever you position it on the page; it doesnt move as you add text or other objects.
If you want to layer objects behind body text, you need to add a background object to the page, then position it behind the text. Drag an object so it overlaps with one or more other objects.
